Media transport buttons appearing in Win 10 on volume change
Any ideas how to get rid of these transport buttons that keep popping up every time I change the volume?

It's nice to know what the volume is - so i wanna keep that, but I have no use for the transport buttons - nothing is even playing, the box is unnecessarily huge and it's taking up loads of my small laptop display.

EDIT:
Sorry, double post.
How the hell did that happen?

Bump.
Anyone?
It's rather annoying...
If I manage to mouse over the box as it's fading away, it comes back again and I have to move the mouse off, then wait until it fully fades away again before I can click or see what's under it.

I believe these buttons are provided by "Groove Music" if you don't want them at all you could uninstall Groove - can be done via Powershell.
When googling the other day, i did find a free add on which can completely disable these - I can't remember the name of it at the moment, but if you want, ill find out the name and post it here.

There appears to currently be no native way within Windows 10, what a shocker
This is about all the useful info I could find:
Try clicking near opera.exe to see if that helps:

Or turn it off entirely with a 3rd Party app:

What build of windows are you on? Don't get these when I change my volume on my laptop, and I'm pretty sure I'm on the lastest version...

Why do you want to turn it off? Microsoft have decided that its a useful feature! Who do you think you are to question how they think you should use their software?
</sarcasm>

I'm on 1803 and it happens with Spotify and Browsers. I believe anything that is playing a sound will show in the media box.
In addition this has been the case for me since the Anniversary edition. The time I took the plunge to W10.
Heres my example:

Further reading suggests that changing your default Music Player from Groove Music gets rid of that feature. I will give it a go...
EDIT - No changing groove music to WMP did not alter the Volume OSD media box

Whew, sorted.
Thanks all.
Thought I'd be stuck with it forever.
Fixed it by going in to opera://flags and turning off "Hardware Media Key Handling" like in the Chrome browser as per one of the links above.
FYI I'm running 1703 Win 10 Enterprise and the button box only appeared a few days ago.
