    TV recording

Hi, think this is the right section...

my dad recently bought a TV card (cant tell ya what make yet) for his PC and being the legend that he is, he records soccer AM and sends it to me at Uni

The thing is, the volume seems to fluctuate throughout the recording and I cannot see a pattern to it. Anyone got any experience with this?

    Cheers

presumably it's a cheap hauppauge thing, in which case volume levels are fed via a cable from the sound card to line-in

duff cable, or other irregularities, will affect it.

Could be a faulty card or glitchy software or any number of problems. Check the connectors / quality of cabling. Some of the Hauppage software is notorious for bugs.
