    Safe virus

    Is there anyway of downloading a virus for testing and stuff but keep it safe?

    That just seems to be some sort of fake virus for an AV to pick up. Can u get like a secure .zip file which will hold a virus and not let it out to infect without say a password or something?

    not a good idea to "collect" virii - the eicar test file is the only sort of thing like that you should need.

    But stamps are so boaring! I was gunna put them on cd actually i wanted to test a removal tool but wasnt quite sure how to do it yet, but i had the oppertunity to get the virus (was an msn one)

    you could always set loose a virus in a virtual windows install like hyper Os

    Or maybe ghost your HDD, then get another one and reghost to that one and see if it kills the virus. If it doesn't you haven't lost anything - it's a different HDD!

    You'd probably need to take the 1st HDD out when you try that though.
