Forum Software with post preview.

Vbulletin is my fave forum software but Im cheap and i want to use a free
one.

The feature i like most in vbulletin is the post preview when mouse over title.
(I wish there are a forum preview which gives the first 5 titles)

anyway i have never seen a phpbb forum which does this even though I have been told that you can turn it on. (by agent maybe)
In the admin demo i cant find this option to activate it, so where is it? or do i need a mod.

also i have seen "small machines forum" anyone use that? does it have any advantages over phpbb?
