Knoppix, Suse, pretty much most live CD's have NTFS read support built in, or samba support so you should be able to mount your Windows drives quite easy.

I know both knoppix and suse live CD's have cd burning tools within them, so as long as your device is supported under knoppix or suse you should be fine.

You can mount USB memory sticks under linux quiet easy, again both knoppix and suse support these devices quite well, Knoppix treats them as SCSI disks, while suse uses the slower mass storage device driver.

Other than burning CD's at work, or using their connection to download files and take them home on your USB memory stick I can't see why you'd want to do this, unless your planning to steal the company you work for's software ?

have you read ANY docs on linux ?

you need to mount your windows partition using NTFS support. The same way as you'd mount a linux partition, but with ntfs file system.

Or you could try configuring samba - yast will help you in suse.

I found Xandos works a treat and you can transfer files from the file manager on the start menu from a windows partition on your drives such as images etc.

Great fo getting a taste of linux, very easy to install and gives you the choice of how big/small you want the linux partition to be.

Knoppix is great just for seeing if you like the look and feel and also as an emergency os incase windows goes down.

Hmm I have a stunning hangover headache at the mo but I hope that makes sense.

its poor show if you can't be bothered to even read the details on the knoppix site.

nvening - I'll say this now, linux isn't for you.

After quite alot of looking, it was not on the knoppix site as far as i could see, i found it something to do with, knoppix lang=en [1], obviously, as i want a live cd, i dont want to have linux running 24/7, so no, linux is not for me. But, mabe, as u obviously know how to get it in english, u just could tell me.
