USB Auto detect, switiching it of in XP sp2.

One of the things we use in our business is printers, but they do not use the drivers that come with it. So what happens is you plug it in then use a generic driver, the problem is XP SP2 then detects the device EVERY time you reboot, do you know how to stop the auto detect of that particular device on each reboot?

As far as I know, if you install the non-windows drivers then plug in the printer (after a reboot) it should keep that. Unless the printer's not detected properly it shouldn't be a problem. Use 'update driver' and see if it sticks.
