    The Device 'XXXXXX' cannot be stopped right now, try removing it later???

    This happens often:



    I close all windows and programs but it still wont let me eject it. Happens to both external drives , i usually have to brave it and pull out the USB or restart my machine

    And this is the other message i get too:

    Go into my computer, right click on ur drives n then properties n have a look

    Looks like its on, will turning it off make the drive a lot slower?

    Wont make any difference to the speed of the drive, nothing noticable anyway, I always turn it off....

    Ok, so the next time i plug it back in it should let me eject it once i close programs that could be accessing it?

    Well its 1 less thing thats going to be using the drive, we'll see eh

    my drive does that, i cant find anytrhing about indexing though

    How do you resolve it? Is there anyway to force windows to stop the drive?
