Admittedly I didn't check the non ISO method, rather expected it to be similar, but isn't.

Looking at the two scripts to run on an existing Windows 10 installation, the only thing I can see it bypassing is CPU & TPM.

Someone in the comments has suggested adding this value in the registry, currently it's only noted this worked for the beta:
    "BypassSecureBootCheck" in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Setup\LabConfig

I will try the other scripts tomorrow on a VM, see if I can get it working.

    Re: Windows 11 Revealed

Many thanks, my laptop is pretty old but runs win 10 without issue and is fairly speedy given its age! My main PC is a Mac (boo-hiss) so can't even try Win 11 on that.

It's mainly for a bit of fun and I like to upgrade to new os's

I have created the install media and will give it a go on the laptop in a bit. Nothing to lose really as nothing I really need on the laptop anyway

    Re: Windows 11 Revealed

Annoyingly the machine I've chosen to upgrade from 10 is doing a bazillion updates as I've not used it for a year and a half.

Once it's finished doing all of its bits & pieces I'll eventually be able to test them.

    Re: Windows 11 Revealed

I had no luck at all to be honest, even the Microsoft acknowledged workaround. Trying an alternative route now by shoehorning the win 11 install file into a win 10 installer

    Re: Windows 11 Revealed

That's annoying, hopefully I didn't get beginners luck.
Mine created an ISO that's 1GB smaller than the original, let me know if you want to try it and I'll upload it somewhere.

I have read about the method you're trying for the insiders preview, be interesting how you get on.

    Re: Windows 11 Revealed

Finally got around to trying the scripts on a preinstalled Windows 10, and I too cannot get them to work, along with extra Registry Settings.

The only one working for me at the moment is the ISO fresh install method.

    Re: Windows 11 Revealed

I had no luck whatsoever, it was an old laptop running win 10 so no big loss.

    Re: Windows 11 Revealed

From what I have read even if you use the install media you still need TPM 1.2 to be able install it and Microsoft have said on unsuported hardware you may not get automatic security updates and will have to download updates manually.

You have to do something in the registry to completely bypass the TPM requirement - you can see the steps on the Microsoft site!

I'm upgrading my board, ram and CPU later this year but going to hold off till next year getting Windows 11. Will be buying the small program that makes it look and work like Windows 10!

Son downloaded it yesterday and he had wireless adapter problems alongside a whole host of other stuff he had to do to get things running! - He is a bit clueless though being a self taught know it all watching the gospels known as TikTok & Youtube!

    Re: Windows 11 Revealed

I did all those steps with the registry and still no luck, in the end I had it bypassing the TPM, the RAM and Secure Boot requirement and still nothing
