    Windows 11 Revealed

If you're incredibly bored, and I mean extremely, you can watch the reveal below.

Two sources as Microsofts one stopped working so I had to move over to YouTube.
Youtubes audio is out of sync.

Apparently it's (Windows 11) going to be available this year, which has been kept pretty quiet.

Yeah I agree but I had mixed results with bootcamp. Wasn't quite the experience I was hoping for. While it did work it was sluggish and clearly the MacOS and Windows had been fighting at lunch time

Great, the fact they gave the EOL for Windows 10 for 2025 means they need to get a shift on.

So far I'm liking the progression around touchscreen usage.

The developer live stream is at 8pm tonight and can be found here: This might go into some back end stuff.

    DX12 compatible is pretty common.

DX12 ultimate is only optionally needed, for directStorage

I wonder if my A6 3670K is DX12 compatible? It uses a VLIW4 based GPU!

They did.. but it doesn't mean motherboard manufacturers didn't mostly decide to save a few $ and not include them. So far it sounds like the best PC to run Windows 11 is.. a Mac, which have had them for years.

Yes! Windows 10 continues to be a great version of Windows. We have committed to supporting Windows 10 through 14 October 2025.
Nice of MS to half answer their own questions, but my questions would be a bit different.

Even if your PC does meet hardware requirements (and I havesome that do and some that don't) is the upgrade the user's choice or is W10 auto-update going to stick it on anyway?

And for those on W10 that don't meet it, what about after 2025?

From what I've seen so far, I don't see anything too objectionable in W11, but I also don't see anything that interests me enough to induce me to waste my time doing an upgrde. It's eminently ho-hum.

Also, so far, everything I've seen is either about prettification in ways I don't give a hoot about one way or the other, or other features (like their gaming subscription service) I have zero interest in.

So much for "last ever version".
