    Playing media on a Windows PC...

    I have been having 'fun' with Explorer

    After much prodding by the HEXUS Hierarchy - I finally switched to FireFox and it has been something of a revelation

    If I want to play the full gamut of video/music content available on broadband these days - but have decided to try an alternative to Windows Media Player 10 - what should I install ?

    Any suggestions welcome

    no winamp 5 fans here?

    that has a media library and a super quick search function.

    plays pretty much everything i throw at it too (with the occasional extra codec)

    doesnt integrate into browsers like media player and quicktime tho.

    Winamp for audio. I use Media Player Classic and the Gordian Knot Codec Pack for video, find it very good. VLan is one ive just started using too. Both are very good.

    Winamp for music - still an ace program. VLC is the canine's cuddle conkers when it comes to vids if you ask me. They're having some sound issues with NF4 boards at the moment though - it would seem nvidia's driver breaks VLC, but Realtek's driver is OK. Of course Andrzej, I presume you're not running NF4
    PHP Code:
    $s = new signature();
    $s->sarcasm()->intellect()->font('Courier New')->display();

    Seriously though, winamp5 + mmd3 skin is still as good as it gets for music imo - the library really is an excellent addition. It's up to the job for *most* video tasks as well though.
