Home Assistant
Hi Folks, quick question for anyone familiar with HA.
I am currently dabbling with Home Assistant. I was able to install it using Docker on my Synology NAS. However, this does not have Supervisor and it seems that it never will have supervisor (at least not on DSM 7). For ease of use and the ability to install add-ons it is important that I have supervisor mode (this also would require much less fiddling about and knowledge than trying to do it manually (if that's even possible).
As such, I am going to run it on my HTPC home server which runs Windows 10, as it is on 24/7 (for Plex) and is powerful enough. I am going to run it in virtualisation (think thats the term?) and there are plenty of guides on youtube to do this (I just need to activate virtual mode on my bios which i couldn't do without a GPU (thanks Trig!).
However, what I want to know (and haven't been able to find out), is will Supervisor be available on this type of setup (as it isn't on Synology)?
Any other advice? I also bought a Fire HD 10 tablet to use as a Home Assistant control panel.
Thank you

Re: Home Assistant
So, I have installed it via virtual box (or something similar haha). And it is working with supervisor.
Now I just need to find out what it can do.
It's bugged me to find out that my tapo smart plugs don't work with home assistant but my kasa ones do. Annoying.

Re: Home Assistant
I had Ha installed on my Synology DS716II+ without any issues running my home automation, mainly for the Z-Wave capabilities. It took a while to get to know but there was no limitations on what I could do on Docker on my NAS. The only down side was it didn't auto update, I had to manually install updated. I don't know about the Supervisor issue you mention but can say that I had no issues with the stock install
