Haha yeah, good point..
I've got the same install of Windows 11 on my main machine and the same Office and it works fine, I've done a reset on the laptop and will see what it says later, failing that I'll do a reinstall from USB and failing that, Windows 10...
It's an odd one though, Windows 11 is reporting as 11 Pro, activated, but the Office installer thinks its 10 S....
I have an update that shows as unable to download in Windows 11. Downloaded the standalone and says it's not applicable to my computer :/

I'd not come across S Mode before. You can come out of it if you wanted. But can't go back, for whatever reason. Some info here if anyone's unfamiliar with what it is and how it works.

Could the complaining (by the installer) about S mode be a license issue then with the install of win 11 on the laptop? Don't know if there are still options to verify the activation, but might be worth a try to kick it into realising it's on a proper licensed win 11.
What you mean you haven't missed it?

I remember we had 3.11 at the college I worked at over 25 years ago, it was brilliant paired with Novell 3.x....
