    De-duplication Software

Anyone here managed to find some proper duplication finder software?

I've got loads of old backups on my server, most of which are more or less copies of each other (drag and drop 'backups' of OneDrive, iCloud, Dropbox etc) I want to have a bit of a clean up and bin off old duplicates of stuff.

I hate to say it but CCleaner is often recommended all over the internet. For simply being free maybe worth a try.

Otherwise TreeSize paid for version seems to have put some decent effort into their function

I have used this in the past I can't remember how good it was though, there is probably a no install version as well. I have found their disk defrag good so I expect it was at least reasonable for me to remember it

    Re: De-duplication Software

I had an open source project called DupeGuru recommended to me but, while I made a note of it, I haven't used it myself.

I've done things slightly more manually with the 'folder compare' and 'folder synchroise' options in the file manager I use (FreeCommander), though I use the "donation-only" 64-bit version. I find it a bit easier to get my head around what I'm doing, by doing it that way. YMMV, of course.

I thought I'd already replied to this, maybe not...

I've always found dupekiller enough for my needs, pretty basic but enough for my usage which was photos.
