    Netbeans 4.1 RC and Profiler...

So anyone got the profiler running on the jdk 5.0 written applications on the 4.1 RC of Netbeans? I sure couldnt. I try to set up what target jvm to use in the global setting for the profiler but when I point it to the java.exe file in the JAVA_HOME directory (jdk 1.5 update 2) it just hangs...anyone got it working? I been looking at the info on the netbeans website but to no avail other than downloading a jdk 6.0 snapshot of which I am not ready to do yet.

Weird, i thought that the latest version of both the JDK and netbeans happily worked together with no configuration? How come you're using 4.1 RC? Not much point at the moment, plus, if iit's causing that to happen then it might be best to take a step back to a stable version perhaps?

It is not the version of netbeans. I found out that the profiler will work for jdk 5 update 4 onwards and that is going to be released this summer. People are actually using Mustang 6.0 snapshots to do their work...brilliant tool adn very useful. 4.1 is actually quite a step up on 4.0 in terms of zippiness, performance, start up times, and some cool new little windows added that are useful when coding. I love it.

I hope so as netbeans takes yonks to startup and shutdown. Cool new little windows? What's that then?
