No idea what a netport is... BUT from windows the easiest way to rint to a networked printer is to go into the properties and add a standard TCP/IP port, whack in the address and the port name and away ya go.

Tried that no gen, when it was plugged into the netport it was using the Epson LQ11-70 driver, yet when u plug it into the machine directly u can dump from DOS into lpt1 and it prints out yet when u print from within windows it just sits in the queue and does nothing, you can even dump from DOS and it'll print out...

Cant wait to get everything sorted properly in this place, the boss has Ok'd the upgrades and new systems so things will be in the proper places and things will work properly and it wont all be botched together...

Some wacky old software like payroll stuff and BACS 'hijack' the lpt ports if they - try checking your msconfig. I wouldn't go using mapped lpt ports though unless you have crappy old DOS apps that require it.

What typr of printer is it anyway? Does it print if connected locally?

Its a Citizen Swift 9x, when it was in the Netport it used the LQ1170 driver, when u plug it in locally and use that driver it prints garbage but when u use the 9x driver it prints fine, problem now is that when u try to print the payslips out its missing out the top lines.... :/

make sure the paper size/form length is correct. Letter size paper (11*8.5in) is slightly longer and thinner than A4.. (297*210mm).

Most continuous stationary is letter sized.... either 8.5 or 13.6in wide, but generally always 11in long.

I've rewritten the standard sage payslip and changed the paper sizes and margins etc, things is they were never changed in the 1st place it always used to just work but lately the damned things been getting worse and worse, not its at the point where it prints all the details but misses out the bit on the top with the department code and company name on it, even tho it appears in the preview and on the same page if I print it to a laser printer...

laser printer will be using plain paper (A4) and it'll be on the preview cos of the margins set by the program. The printer itself will probably require adjusting.. got an ops manual? usually you have to dick around wioth LED flashes to set those damned things up...

either that or get someone to clean the thing

I've already tested the same print on the laser and its fine, prints the whole thing, all I'll have to do is adjust the number per page and the paper type to get it to print the slips on a4, just doesnt make sence, nothings changed but suddenly it dont wanna work thru the Netport or locally using the same drivers it used to use, and now when it prints it missed some info off the top....

can you alter the emulation mode on the printer? maybe it's changed without you noticing....
