Windows XP SP3 to arrive before Longhorn

    Yay

Im not looking forward to Longhorn anyway, but then, Im not looking foward to another service pack, atleast with the troubles that SP2 caused. (Although it didnt cause me any problems, I know it did for others, especially where I used to work, we used alot of bespoke software, most of it collapsed )

I would expect the third service pack to land roughly around October time as IE7 will be bundled in the updates, and as the beta of IE7 is out in the summer I would say closer to October/November for any service pack to rear its head.

Its just waiting...and waiting...and waiting when it comes to getting software out of microsoft's door. Yes Internet Explorer 7 will be a significant update, however I really dont expect it to change very much in terms of GUI or layout. The Only features being added are +tab feature, some new security features to help prevent phishing and of course, better standards compliance, such as CSS2.

I see a lot of you are discussing Longhorn, in relation to features being ported back to XP. I think we should all be patient (I know weve be waiting for soooooo long now), wait for the longhorn beta to appear in july (well august, no I mean september! lol).
