Logitech MX-1000 Mouse under Linux opinons

    Hi all,

I've got a bit of a bug with my current mouse in that it sometimes doesn't regognise double clicks.

With this in mind I'm considering getting a new mouse.

Has anyone used the Logitech MX-1000 Mouse under linux ?

If so, how did you find it, good/bad results, and problems ?

a nice read on setup, thanks for that.

anyone actually used this device ? I've read a few mixed reviews (which could be caused by setup problems I guess)

I've used this mouse in Ubuntu. Not sure whether all the buttons worked but the mouse (and double-clicking) worked fine from what I remember. I'm sure I'd have realised if I couldn't click on things

Yup, i'm using it right now in gentoo. I use openbox as my window manager which is nice because it can be assign lots of buttons to wm actions. I have a slight problem in that using the side to side scroll buttons also seams to trigger and button 4 or 5 event too (scroll up/down) which is only a little annoying, as i use the side to side to switch desktops, so it can lead to scrolling a window.

Also note that you need to use the mouse in a usb port rather than ps/2 otherwise you cant use all the buttons for some unknown reason.
