    Longhorn to get Red Screen of Death
    Microsoft has taken a novel approach to ensuring users see the
    hated Blue Screen of Death less often: it has created a red
    version for Longhorn to indicate more serious problems

    But will it be any more informative?

    Nahh it will still say "geek" speak like the following ;

    " IRQ_LESS_THAN OR EQUAL TO" in AA001 10010 00A00A 00A001

    Why can't it say something on the lines like ;

    Memory issue - get some better memory - this has errors galore... look I'm crashing %n times a day

    Great red instead of blue, I am sure it will still happen. To be fair to MS I dont ever think I have had a blue screen crash under XP.

    I'm reminded of Microsoft's assertion re Windows 3.1 as opposed to 3.0 - "We've got rid of the Unexpected Application Errors!"; yes, by renaming them to General Protection Faults....

    Only because you saw the damn thing so often!
    Mind you at least finding the causes was more logical
