    Exact Audio Extractor (EAC) is currently regarded as the best - esspeically for CUE file creation etc. But I would probably go with Audio Grabber for ease of use for now (and good line in sampling if you want to record radio shows etc). If it's MP3 you want, use the LAME encoder (available on the Audio Grabber site).

    Oh, and it's not the software that makes a difference, it's the encoder and settings (and your PC) that effects rip speed. I personally use LAME for MP3.

    however i find that WMP10 takes no longer to rip to MP3 than CDex and the CDDB database seems better (and you get albums covers aswell )

    wmp uses the awful microsoft mp3 codec (or wma) though.

    if you want to use mp3, you can't beat LAME with --alt-preset standard

    Audiograbber + ogg vorbis = MP3 player heaven (if you've been wise enough not to buy an iPod )

    Another vote for CDex. I use it with the GT3b2 Ogg Vorbis DLL's on a quality setting of 8. It produces very large files averaging 10-12MB per track but the audio is as close to pure CD quality as I can get. They resulting tracks sound great on my iRiver H140.

    Of course, CDex will also rip to MP3 amongst many other formats. If you do use CDex then be sure to set the rip mode to Full, Paranoia. This will make sure that all of the data on the CD is actually read rather than interpolated as with standard rippers.

    EAc on secure ripping to flac.. find a guide here.. will taker a while but will leave you with a lossless and as perfect as is possible copy of the song that you can then burn back onto other cd's with no quality loss.. find a great guide about setting up eac http://wiki.hydrogenaudio.org/index.php?title=EAC
    AMD3000+ ATIX800XL + GBNF44x mobo.. all at stock because they're good enough atm + CA A1 amp-->Mission 73S Loigtech MX1000 + 1GB ram + 1/3 TB HD array
    Wintendo XP + Linux (when it works) .. just incase you were wondering

    I have tried it, yes. I think it's awful and woud rather use WMP. But then why would anyone use anything other than Winamp (or i-tunes if your an ipod owner).

    Dunno, cos its burns mp3/data/audio cd's straight from the play list window, rips cd's in mp3 format, uses CDDA...

    Whatelse would you want it to do?
