File Sending App - like MSN but works

Need to tranensfer some large documts with someone, easiest way i can think of is to use MSN Messenger but it is dead slow due to the ports not being opened properly. Something at his end I think.

Need something that is simple and works for the task.

Theres a program called Waste, it works by the same principals as KaZaA but only you and your friend( s ) can transfer files over an optional but recomended encrypted connection.

I don't personally know how it works because I've never used it myself, but you can get it from:

Gonna set up FTP. Is it worth using the built in Windows XP one shall I download a third party app. If the XP is ok I'll use that I'm not bothered with any fancy features...

Ease of use is a priority.

Can you not use a VPN? Haven't been able to set one up that works myself, but I'm sure someone on here will know how to!

    :edit: Just saw this:

Just tried Port 21 but the router gave me an error saying it is in use. How can I find out what is using it?

The router error also says it will use port 2121. Will it do this automatically or do I need to manually open up 2121 and set up Cerberus to use it?

you can run FTP on whatever port you want as long as both your client and server are set to use it
