Question Mandrive LE 2005, Acer 1801 & Audio

After searching hi and low (well, google & irc) I'm still soundless on my install of Mandriva LE 2005. The codecs are installed (this time!) and the hardware is recognised as "82801FB/FBM/FR/FW/FRW (ICH6 Family) AC'97 Audio Controller" and i have tried using all of the "profiles" (or whatever they are) starting with the INTEL default and ending on the nForce one (which i KNOW this chip isn't!

    Any & all help appreciated!
