    Could you get "this" to show in "this"?

    Hiya web dudes

    I now sell this product

    www.postini.com

    I work for a reseller...a franchised reseller.

    THIS web page has a superb STATS link in it.
    www.postini.com/stats

    see that live page? I want that on OUR website

    http://www.bluecube-uk.com/Partners/postini.htm

    is it possible? Because the Postini dudes dont wanna share unless we sort it ourselves.

    Is it dead easy or is it a nightmare? Dont want the whole page...just the shockwave thing.

    Cheers

    I can't see it as Flash doesn't work here, but if you want it to show the same but just on your site, won't something like this work:

    Code:
    <object classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,29,0" name="stats" width="617" height="380" id="stats">

    <param name="movie" value="http://www.postini.com/stats/details.swf">

    <param name="quality" value="high">

    <param name="menu" value="false">

    <embed src="http://www.postini.com/stats/details.swf" width="617" height="380" quality="high" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" name="stats"></embed>

    </object>
    ??

    Perhaps you'll need to load up the .swf file with Macromedia Shockwave and see where it's taking the stats from then? I dunno, but just a guess really. As I said, I'm no expert, so I'll step aside and let the experts tell you how to do it.

    Obviously there is a datasource of some description it is not accessing when you open it externally. The chances are effectivly nil of you getting hold of it in a working format, it's probably somthing as simple as a relative path.
    To err is human. To really foul things up ... you need a computer.

    It's almost certainly using an XML file or a database link in order to read the data in. If you're lucky and its an XML file and they're just using a relative path and that path is exposed to the web then you would need to ask them for the original .fla file, find the data source and modify it to the absolute path in order to pick up the data. If it's reading direct from a database then it's almost certainly not going to work unless they allow some sort of tunnelling and given the security risk around that I suspect they don't.

    To move forward you need to ask them what the data source is for the Flash file
