Free video file to DVD convertors.

I want to convert some video files to work on DVDs so they will work on
normal dvd players.

What progs are out there and what can they convert from and too.
esp .mov .rmvb (real variable bit rate) divx xvid etc into DVD.

Have you not got Nero? Thats all i bother with really.

So far i have been trying nero im using 6.3.1 i see that there is 6.6 available.
I have tried to make a dvd and svcd etc but it says i need the appropriate files
i.e. mepgs etc. I want to convert real players (rmvb) but it doesnt let me.
Is it impossible? what special thing do i need to conver bloody real stuff.
will the other progs listed work?
