    Advanced MS Services...

I'm going to be undergoing a "repair" install of Windows XP soon, but I was wondering if there was a way of exporting or backing up the settings for the MS Services so that I do not have to waste hours wrting the settings down and re assigning the settings...

    Any help will be appreciated...

You've probably just illustrated the easiest way - Sort by startup type and screen print.

AFAIK there's no way of safetly exporting them.

Services are all stored in the registry, so if you wanted an exact duplicate of all service startup types then you could export the following key:
    HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services

However, this will include all 3rd party services, and sometimes applications create keys and never remove them on uninstallation, so it might end up with you importing phantom entries into a clean system.

Maybe next time you do a clean install, before installing ANY applications, you could configure the system services as you want, then export the key.

System service control in a more flexible way is done with Group Policies - however the Local Group Policy (gpedit.msc) doesn't have a built-in section for service control (this is something for Domain GPOs).
I've never done this, but apparently you can make your own .ADM (administrative templates) for Group Policy Editor to give a "friendlier" way of controlling things like registry keys.
    MS Article Here

USE THESE AT YOUR OWN RISK.
If you're not 100% au fait with the registry then leave it well enough alone.
Make sure you have a system state backup, test on a virtual machine, etc.
