Two windows startup sounds?!

Hi there,

I've just installed a fresh install of windows and for some bizare reason I get two startup sounds playing over the top of each other. I can disable one of them through control panel, but the other one I can't seem to get rid of, and it is so horrid and annoying! Any ideas how to erradicate any of this windows nastiness from my system?

which version of windows and are you using a soundbaster?

I'm using XP and yes Ive got an audigy

I have a Soundblaster 5.1 card, and I get two sounds as well... with a splash animation during the second. I think you can disable the splash screen, but whether that stops the sound from being played as well, I don't know....

Sorry I've been away for a week, the audigy has a very anoying splash screen like wot shlunk said. If you disable it the sound goes away
