    Switching ISP's

Does anyone know of a guide, or can someone give me a basic A-Z on moving broadband providers?

Where do I start?, I remember that I think I need some sort of code from my current provider that lasts for 30 days..

So what do I do first? Should I get in contact with the old provider first, find the "key" (what's the proper name?), then just get in contact with the new provider, give them the information including the key code, and they sort everything else out?

    Thanks

    Code?
    Sorry, lost me there.
Normally, you just give your notice with your current ISP and your new one will do everything for you.

OK, erm.... the key was called something like.. MUP?.. PUK maybe?. I don't know... was something to do with the migration process, but I'll be getting Plus.net so I will be ordering online.

I'm currently using AOL, so if I go into their chat thing and talk to one of the AOL help guys (done this before when I upgraded from 512k --> 1mb). So if I talk to someone from AOL what shall I say/ask? and once I've done that, I just order the Plus.net stuff?

    Thanks

Its called a MAC code, you phone up AOL and tell them you want to cancel at the end of this month, and ask for the code, then go here, click the bit "Got your MAC key?" and order your new package
