Which is the best gif maker out there so I can make myself a couple of links for my site?

If not then Photoshop is pretty good

I have one on disk that was good - I'll dig it out and see what it was called....can't quite remember

It does a bit....but that is the problem with a lot of free software...take Blender for example - great proggy but the UI has a steep learning curve and many annoyances....
I reckon he should fork out £800 for Photoshop....

£40 for paint shop pro, which has a reasonable gif editor, imho

I really dont get all the bitching about the UI, although i only use it on linux, so it gets a whole desktop to itself, it is kind of annoying if you have anything else open i suppose.

Quite, Blender I know some in the design industry choose to use it over stuff like 3dfsmax and Maya and some of the other progs out ther which cost alot. This 4mb, pretty much just as powerful but big learning curve. It's an awesome prog.

Famished: a trial of flash and you get 30 days to make an animated gif or photoshop trial, excellent prog.

it makes agony from simple tasks such as drawing a line, and most of the tutorials and the like are based around gimp 1.2, which had menus in different places. i use gimp for any graphics work i do, but i don;t enjoy it
