    Cd/dvd burning programs.

I havent needed to burn any diskss for a long time..

Whats the best program to use?

I notice nero has turned all uber-chav-nub like, so I wont be using that!

Ive got a pioneer 109 drive so nero5.5 (which I had the demo version of) doesnt support it

    I use this:

    http://www.cdburnerxp.se/

It does the job, but I don't think it does DVD's, but I haven't tried it, so it might.

Nero also has a 'proper' mode still. At least the full version does, the one that came with my dvd writer didnt.

Looking at there site, I can see 100000's of small crappy products, but not one full proper nero.

The oem verions are all 5.5 iirc - which dont support my burner

    CDBurnerXP Pro seems perfect.

nero burning rom 6, part of nero 6 reloaded, still exists:

Nero is still by far the best overall burner package. You can pick up a complete version of Nero Ultra 6 for less than £5 on eBay.

When you say "uber-chav-nub like", you must be using the limited cut down version with the 'Smart Start' or 'Nero Express' interface, which is often bundled with DVD/CD drives and is aimed at noobs (still uses the Nero engine).

But Nero is a 'do everything' type app. If you do loads of mucic CD's, take a look at Feurio. Might be worth looking on www.downloads.com too. Some people say Deepburner is quite good and it's free.

We buy OEM copies of nero at work and they are all v6...

Just gotta ignore Smartstart, and look in the startmenu for the proper nero version.

Sometimes you can't do that, they give away cut down copies that don't let you access the full Nero Burning ROM interface and many of the other features, such as DVD-Video encoding/burning. You can access it with an upgraded serial number though.
