    Windows XP problem!!!

    Hi guys.

I boot up my cousins Laptop (Win XP) and after logging in the system lags like anything. I alt+ctrl+del as nothing happens (just a blue background). Then after about 2 minutes the task manager pops up with well over 500 processes, made up of userinit.exe! 500 of them and trying to open more.

I got into safe mode and the same damn thing. No idea how to set the boot priority on laptop to read CD first. The option doesn't seem to be there (to use Win XP disk to repair!). Any other ideas? These userinits are giving me a headache!

    Cheers.

When it boots if it's not the Del key to get into the bios screen it might be F2?
