gordian knot works well for me (AutoGK is a simple-to-use variant, I believe).
I would compress to XviD rather than DivX though, as it's open source, generally a step ahead in quality etc etc.
Perfect - thanks Schmunk![]()
I use to use AutoGK, but now use DVD Santa, can't remember which is better
Last time i did some dvd to divx i did it with doctor divx, there is a 30 day trial on it, but i cant remeber how i did it at all now![]()
i do a lot with gordion knot and if your new to it they have some excellent guides at http://doom9.org
Are there any programs that are literally "one click"... or a few clickswhere you select the options (like AC3 sound or 2ch sound, resolution of video, etc) and click "go" and it does the rest totally automatically (albeit taking a few hours)?

Can these programs mentioned go the other way round eg DivX etc. to DVD. Was thinking of putting a few documentries I downloaded on DVD, at the moment I always watch them on the comp.

DVD Santa will do that for you iMc
Also I think DVD Santa will do the DVD to Divx with just a few clicks Howard
SimpleDivX
does what it says on the tin tbh...you can set up the options and stuff, or just leave 90% of it and just click start or whatever. I have found it to be very good.
I think this is an excellent solution for what you want.

Does that allow convertion both ways?Originally Posted by Twigman
No? Is that required as well then?
