    Question Favourite MS Office App

So, what is your favourite MS office app. Not neccesarily the one you use the most, just the one you like or find indespensible.

I have recently started using OneNote, and now consider it one of the best installs of software I've ever done, closely followed by Outlook 03 (hated the previous versions). They are just so useful, and when some devices come out with Mobile 2005 I'll get a PDA and 'syncrhonise' my lifestyle. Just found OneNote so useful, particularly as I have transferred a huge amount of paper from my filing cabinet onto the computer. Also find Visio great for network topology diagrams.

Addy: No space for Visio and Word, cuts out on Polls at 10.

    What the hell is Infopath?

I havent used office in about 2 years, except at uni, and then only word. Everything i need to do can be done in Oppenoffice at a much nicer price

MS Word is invaluable to me.

I do use OOo a lot though on my other box. I use access a lot in my summer job but I really don't like it.

I'm a big fan of outlook too.

Infopath is software where you can disgn a form , but when data from that form is saved , its saved as XML - this makes it quite good for organising forms which may have previously been word or excel based - it also hooks into sharepoint ( which will be HUGE very soon - not in the home office but in the enterprise )

Can someone explain OneNote to me?

I have only really used Word and a bit of Publisher recently. I like Word, but prefer Adobe InDesign/Quark Express to Publisher.

If you mean spider diagram things, then yes in terms of drawing them on a tablet PC, PPC (Notes >>>> OneNote) or using a mouse, but it won't recognise it as seperate stuff, and just do the text if you do a text conversion from your handwriting iyswim. Visio Pro is really the best thing for spider diagrams.

    Visio Enterprise edition 2003 please

    followed by outlook, then excel.

I still think Word is appalingly buggy and far to slow and verbose.

Out of the Office suite, I end up using Word the most, but it's been pretty much the same for the past however many years. At the moment, I'm using OpenOffice.org and Gnome Office, depending on whether I'm in Linux or Windows. For brainstorming, I tend to use good old fashioned pen and paper.

You cant keep me away from Visio - love it to bits. Used AutoCAD and Visio and some other GIS program and for ease of use and a bit o' fun visio wins handsdown. I've also designed my own kitchen with it and my PC desk - pity I lost my Vision CD key and so I cant use it anymore
