    SQL Server 2000 SP3 Problems

Running SQL 2000 SE with SP3a on Server 2003 all updated.

Trying to install OEE Impact (Gemba Solutions) to a named instance "SERVER\OEE"

using SQL Logon ''sa'' + ''given password'' however everytime, i get [DBNETLIB][ConnectionOpen (Connect()).]SQL Server does not exist or access denied.

I have full admin rights, whats the crack... it connects fine in Enterprise manager on itself and on other pcs.

That sounds like it is trying to use TCP/IP sockets, when it being turned off in SQL Server. It might be using named pipes etc...

    Try using SVRNETCN.exe from the X:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\80\Tools\Binn

From where you have the SQL server installed to check if any of the network access methods are disabled and try again.

BTW SP4 for SQL server is out..

For whatever reason, it isn't seeing your server instance.

Have you already created the instance SERVER\OEE before trying to install Impact?

Can you log on to that instance through Enterprise manager ok?
