mySQL problems

yet when i type

"mysql -h localhost -u root -p"

i can get to the mysql> prompt...

i have a feeling its firewall intervention, is there a way to change the port MYSQL runs on? if its not firewall, what is it :S

another thing is, phpinfo doesnt list MYSQL at all in the readout

lol, mysqld-nt --console only starts the server in console mode instead of deamonising it in the background.. thats natural.
