    Video Conference Software

    looking for some free/cheap video conferencing software which allows unlimited (or ~20 users) to video chat.

    any recommendations?

    list of ones we are going to try:

    - netmeeting (tried before was average)
    - msn messenger

    doesn't Skype have video facilities.


    or you could spend some cash on Mive conferencing server ,but I dont know how much video it supports.

    Another option is using SIP-based services - SIP's primarily for Voice over IP (VoIP), but some of the SIP providers support video calling (and I think Asterisk does, which would allow you to set up your own SIP server for it for free), and client software like eyeBeam (http://www.xten.com/index.php?menu=p...&smenu=eyebeam) supports doing Video Conferencing. eyeBeam isn't free, though.

    MSN Messenger works, and is free... but you may have problems trying to run several video connections at once... eyeBeam's not free, but it is designed to handle some level of conferencing.
    I'd recommend trying out MSN Messenger - you'll already have a version installed, and it provides basic functionality. If you need further features, then check out the likes of eyeBeam as a solution - if that's not what you need then let us all know what functionality you desperately require and I'm sure someone can come up with some suggestions.
