Bring to Front - how to disable?

    Hi all,

Just out of curiousity, when I'm using my PC, I always click to load things and then change windows, do a bit of something whilst things loads, and I'm always switching between windows constantly.
I find it annoying when a window loads, or does something, and it automatically gets brought to the front.
For example when chatting to someone on Trillian, if someone else sends you a message, focus automatically moves to that window.

Is it at all possible to disable windows from being brought forward automatically?
I wouldn't mind there title bar flashing in the background, that would be fine. But I'd like to stop them jumping in my face

    Thanks,
    Parm

hmm i don't belive theres a way to do this by settings, as windows determines the z order (the way windows are layed on top of each other) by what a window has asked, if its in the TOPMOST catagory, it sits ontop all windows thare are NORMAL.

However it wouldn't be hard to program an application to fix this, nview (a cool peice of software nvida users get, take that ati fan boys) will let you make a window always on top. So you'd temporarelly make ur msnger ontop, not idel, but all i can think of (but i can give u instructions on how to code something to disable applications doing HWND_TOPMOST if you wanted, and u know how to code).
throw new ArgumentException (String, String, Exception)

trillian should have the setting, as theanimus says its mostly handled by the apps themselves, rather than windows.
