    Word Automation Question...

This is something that might be too simple really but hrm. I want a certain task automated, but I don't think macros will serve the purpose, then again they might.

What I want is to enter about 3 - 4 variables as strings. I want each of these strings to replace their appearance across 3 documents (set areas of the documents will have them, i.e.

Dear <field> blah blah, so variable 1 will add something to field (name, whatever).

Then send all 3 docs for printing.

Easy enuff, and I guess macros would be the way to go then eh?

    Thanks, Mike

I think macro's are the right way yes.

But convert them to VBA and edit them from there.

Makes it more flexible for the printing side at least and there's more options to change.

I'm not entirely sure what you want to do, but have you tried looking at Mail Merge?

Yeah, if I've understood you right, that's mail merging your talking about. Set up a database / spreadsheet and use Word's extremely simple mail merge tools to generate template documents that'll serve as master copies.
