for playing games, look at transgaming.org
Nox
you *need* cedega 4.4.1, as of time of writing.
1) go to transgaming.com, sign up
2) download Point2Play-small for your distro
3) install it
4) run it, allow it to download and install cedega 4.4.1 (and the fonts, and the mozilla control)
5) click install, type "Steam" in the first box, give a path to steaminstaller.exe in the second box using the browse button
this all assumes you have 3D support, and £3 spare.
how do you pay for it via paypal or visa electron?
I have to say this is the one thing that puts me off from a total migration from Windows to Linux. Cedega is the way to go on Linux but having to pay to just play my games? I'd rather partition my disk to have a Windows install purely for gaming and Linux for my primary use.
That's essentially what I have right now. I don't mind booting back up into Windows for games, and it also means I have Internet Explorer for testing purposes.Originally Posted by madmonkey
