    That Virus

    That Virus

What the virus called that shuts the windows xp computers down when they connect to the internet? Everyone seems to have had it of late.. I need to download the patch and give it to someone to fix there computer…

Am I right in thinking you can simply rollback the computer say 1 month and then apply the patch and all is well? I seem to remember doing this about 3 months ago to my mates laptop and the has worked fine ever since?

The Virus ( and its variants ) is referred to as Blaster.

The 1st thing to do on an affected Pc is to stop the MSBLAST.EXE process.

this should stop of from shutting down. Then you can run fixblast.exe from

You need to get the windows update patch that should stop re-infection.

I think fixblaster.exe should kill most instances & variants

The patch is available over the normal windows update, or buy a magazine that has them on a disk if you cant get online with the virus.
