I think they still need some sort of a better download manager IMO though. Still this looks great - can't wait to get it installed.

Just installed this. Seems fine so far, i like the new Clear Private Data function. Though i have to ask the question; what use does movable/reorder able tabs serve?

I find it very usefull when brousing forums like this one. I will usualy open several threads in tabs at once, then when I am reading a thread, if I folow a link from a posting, I will move it's tab so that the thread and the link target are together, as this makes it easier to keep my tab bar tidy & manageable.

There was an extension for the Mozilla browser a few years back that allowed you to move tabs between windows, but I don't think it got ported to firefox.

Yeah, tabbed browsing is essential for forum browsing for me. I find it a nightmare when i have to go back to IE. As for the download manager, i think it does it's job well enough. It's better than IE and anywhy i think they should concentrate on making a good browser and leave download managing to dedicated apps like Getright.

Is it just me, or if the "search as you type" feature faulty? I use that all the time on my "normal" firefox, but with this new version, it doesn't act the same. When I click in a search box of a forum text box or something, and begin to type, instead of typing into the box, it searches for what i'm typing instead. Is this happening to anyone else?

Just upgraded and it has fixed a couple of bugs which got on my tats. the forum post preview works much better now even better than the 3rd party plugin which messed up
quite often and now when i scroll down my many bookmarks it doesnt keep trying to fight to go back up when i use the wheel on the mouse. other than that i havent spotted
anything else but ive only been using it less than 5 min.

Aj im not really sure what you mean about the search thing.

OK, try this and tell me what happens (it might just be this PC again).

    1. Go tools > options > advanced > general > Tick the top two boxes.
    2. Click in a text box like the quick reply box at the bottom of this page.
    3. Type something.

For me, it started searching for whatever I typed, and didn't actually type anything into the box. I turned it off as soon as I realised what was going on. I'll try it again now...

EDIT - OK, it didn't happen that time, but it DID happen. Honest...

EDIT2 - It just happened again when I tried to sign into ebuyer. In the end, I had to turn of the "search as you type" thing off.

OK - this is annoying. I have it turned off still, but I have just noticed that when I type an apostraphe, it turns the search as you type back on again. It is as if I am pressing CTRL-F.

I am on windows 98 though, but I would not have thought that would be a problem.
