    Safe Mode For Xp

    Does WIndows XP have a Safe mode and if so how do i get into it?

    hit space the second it starts booting (after the bios, before the graphical boot screen)

    SAFE MODE FOR XP PRO

    ok, i will try F8, i tried space bar, but all it did was let me restore the last known good configuration.... i wanted the Safe-mode like WIn98/95 were no drivers really load up..

    If F8 dosn't work you can do it like this.

    Start-Run-Type msconfig, click on boot ini, tick safeboot, click ok, it will ask to reboot before changes can take place, click yes, once you have done what you want in safe mode remember to change it back.

    thanks to all who replied.. the F8 wanted me to restore windows and the space bar seemed as if was for duial boot.... maybe its the version of XP PRO that i have....
