Assuming you're on Windows, I use ZoneAlarm.

XP SP 2 has quite a good Firewall built in![]()

its all about zone alarm, hopefully when a few bugs have been ironed out V6 will be good too.
I've used Zonealarm Pro for a number of years now and have never had any problem with it. A breeze to configure and pretty transparent once you have had it running for a bit.
I use sygate too. But zone alarm is also meant to be quite good.

NAT + XP SP2 firewall
I got really annoyed with ZoneAlarm, it takes half an hour to configure to how I like, and it blocks all sorts of images without telling you. It also kept making my Xfire time out, didn't let some programs go on the net even when I let it. I DO KNOW that those problems could have been gotten rid of with a bit more effort in config but by that time it already got on my nerves, so I got Norton 2005 back on here. Well, I don't seem to have much configuration to do, just tell it to let me access computers on my network. Apart from that, everything works straight away for me (assuming I let the right programs have internet access when they ask!).Originally Posted by unreal
As for Norton, I used this logic: they both seem to work fine. Norton costs money. Zonealarm does not.
Fortunately, I also have a hardware firewall and, best of all, some common sense, so hopefully I'm safe... for now!

Yea firewalls etc help but common sense is really needed. Some really dumb mates on msn go 'hey keef omg can uze help me out init cuz ur good at comps init i have norton firewall tiny edition and it must be crap because i went on free pr0n and it gives me a virus wen i install this thing wen it asks for yeah and my sentences run on forever init cuz my fullstop button got deleted off my keyboard'
My dad bought Norton 2005 anyway so I have like an incentive to use it, since he paid for it
