This is a comment regarding the DFI A64 NForce 4 boards but probably applies to any mobo with that chipset.
DO NOT INSTALL THE SW-IDE DRIVER IN THE NF2/NF3/NF4 CHIPSET PACKAGE UNLESS USING RAID!!!
am using the Asus A8n sli deluxe mobo....
can anyone confirm the raid comment??
I have an ABIT AN8 Ultra & my personal recommendation
don't install nVidia SW IDE (unless RAID in which case no choice)
don't install nVidia Network Manager or firewall
My advice too would be in line with BUFF.
Will that leave me with just the audio drivers??
Ethernet & SMbus too
thanks again buff/all
Did anyone install the Nvidia firewall included on the Asus driver cd? I found it would leak memory if the network connection was pushed. (General web usage lasted a few days, heavy downloading could take it down within a few hours) I disabled it and it seems to work much better on the other network adaptor.
Oh well, I just wanted to share my experience.
Nick
