I've purchased xp64 and put it on a partition on my machine.

I've had some interesting disscussions / tweaks / bugs with some of you on here who have a good understanding of XP64.

I was reading through the XP64 community pages last night, looking at some of the FAQ's etc etc all very interesting.

There was an FAQ on drivers - in which MS reps suggested this was not their problem, more the problem of vendors who had to "catch up" which was fine to say.

they also made the same comments on some software compatability issues.

then.....I discovered that windowsupdate.microsoft.com does not work with the 64 bit version of IE .

Now for me personally if I am going to launch an OS - in this day and age a mass deployment of updates technique is quite core, and granted there is no real need for windowsupdate to be donem but just in principal, I would have thought MS would have made their own products / sites as compatible as possible before launching.

This is not a problem, and I'm not asking for help "fixing" it before the legions of people reply with "use IE 32".

I'm interested in what people think of the OS vendors products not being compatible post official release.

(this is not a slating of MS)
