    Advice Needed For Reinstall Xp!

Hi I have been putting this off now for too long,i really need a clean install of XP as my Pc is slowing down! I usually do a 1 partition NFTS install but i have read that to save time for future installs its better to partition separately. Now i do not want to start a thread about best types ie Fat/32/nfts etc, all i want to do is an easy clean instalation of XP but if possible take out the things i dont need and some of the crap that comes with it, like silly dog search thing and the tour thing at the start! I would like to slipstream a custom disc but i feel thats way above my head for now! So is there a good easy prog that i can trim some of the fat off this bloated OS? And i would be gratefull for any suggestions that may help me in doing this Clean instalation!
Ps i do have 2 HD's! Oh and have just purchased Partition Magic!

The way I do it is create a 10GB partition for windows and install onto that. Once you have installed it, configure the OS (this means NO driver or software installation) and activate it. Then you ghost it and hey presto, a clean configured version of windows sat on your hard-drive which means you'll never have to format if you stick with the same hardware.

    Talking

You really need to have a look

    here: http://unattended.msfn.org/

    here: http://www.nliteos.com/

and with the last one here: http://ryanvm.msfn.org/

I was like you a while back wanting to customise my windows install but didn't have the know how but after coming across the first link (which led me on to the the other 2) I now have a windows install that installs all the apps that I want it to with all the bits if windows removed that I didn't want in.

Give it a try I know you'll love it!

I use to use nlite as it's quite simple and has some good features. I've now started the intermidiate stuff over on msfn.

If you want to slipstream security updates into your install then look at the 3rd link in my original post. You can use those packs with nlite (the second link)
