    upgrading from pro to MCE

I've got a fully activated & working copy of xp pro.

I have MCE (2005?) on CD

I stick the discs in and follow through the upgrade install procedure. Everything goes well without error.

I still have windows XP pro.

Any ideas what went wrong in this highly technical install procedure?

MCE is just XP pro with a small add on. Try looking for the application on your start - programs bar.

well, just to be sure I'd got the right discs I formatted a 250gb drive and installed it from scratch rather than upgrading.

    I got media centre.

Unfortunately for my wasted weekend, media centre doesn't like my TV card and therefore won't work anyway. That was known as the re-discovery of the waste of time theory, which was given up as a waste of time in 1976.

It seems you can't upgrade from xp pro to MCE - unless anyone has a cunning way of doing so?
