whats "lame" about windows defrag ? seems to keep all the desktop disks in most of the offices I go in, in check ?

if your happy using Nortons, use nortons disk tools what works for some people doesn't work for others.

    now I'll translate

wat is wrong wiv windoze dfrag ? it seems 2 keep all da desktops in the offices I go in in check.

If u R happy using Nortons, Use Nortons Disk tools. wat works 4 sum people dusnt work 4 others

    PerfectDisk for me...

Tried disk keeper and didn't think it that impressive - does it still take multiple passes to defrag a drive?

Disk Keeper is crap, for me anyway. It has some nice scheduling fuctions, but it doesn't do that good a job of defragmenting. The windows integrated disk defragmenter is based on the same original program.

    Perfect Disk actually defrags well.

Diskeeper for me. We run it on our servers and workstations and it does a great job. As some one mentioned the scheduling features are nice and it defrags the MFT and paging file too. On my home PC i run the windows Disk defragmenter.

The built in one IS diskeeper - just a cut down version of..

Yeah, diskeeper on every system I set up. Just because I know they'd never get a defrag otherwise.

Also vital to exclude directories from defrag aswell.
