    p2p/dc client

ive not used direct conenct for a while, is it still best client? or is there better ones now? ive got ver 2 but im just about to d/l latest ...

this thread is not about warez, plz dont mention warez! i am just wondering what good dc clients there are.

there was one (for linux?) that can download from more than one source at a time, is there a ver of this for windows?

also, what other decent p2p networks are there? imo dc is the best that ive used. i hate kazaa, and guntella based ones are to slow, and not worth the effort of using... i dont wanna use bit torrent either.

    Yes, Yes.

Bittorrent is better for... erm educational purposes that DC+ - simply because at the end of the day... anything thats actually fast on DC you will probably already got. Anything old that you want its f*****g great on the right server... but still slow as hell if old.

IF you've been using p2p a while then you possible have anything odd that you fancy, so if you only require occasional new stuff then might as well just BT it in half the time.

Bit torrent clinet link would help
    http://sourceforge.net/projects/pingpong-abc/

Torrent site to get started on common stuff would also help
Put "suprnova" in google and see if you feel lucky.

Bugger... I spent several pissed minutes on those post aswell.

wtf dont you want to torrent? You can leave a whole library of **** to share all the time you are connected for them [yo fbi dudes will have gotten to our fleabitten matted white touped judges next year, mark my words] or you can have just a non finished file for most of the time for them to complain at. Duh :/ If your after pr0n them maybe but otherwise why waste time facrting around with Newsgroups/irc/DC+??

Overnet may be BASED on edonkey but is a lot better, very quick and not hard to join servers as you dont have to join any i.e. its like Kazaa in that respect only without the crap

If you are using Bit torrent, you are going to want to use one of the 3rd part clients. These are soo much better than just using the standard bit torrent.

Personaly I like emule, mainly because I can leave it running 24/7 and just add 50 odd files to download every now and then. Since they are mainly old stuff, I can normally max my bandwidth like this. Links to warez sites removed - Josh

    Kazaa for Music
eMule for Multiple Files (lots of things to get at once, or very hard to find)
BitTorrent for a single thing, CD, Game, whatever

That is the best way of going about doing things, best method paired with the most effitient.

The advantage of torrent over these other apps is that it doesnt seem to kill my router with 20k of connections like mule etc does. I have 40-80 connections on torrent sharing linux iso's which is fine.
I dont like sig pics so i turn off sigs Which doesnt help when i dont know what ive written here! DOH!
