    NTP Client

Any good free NTP clients for Windows XP? One of my machine's clock drifts faster by about 15 minutes everyday - built in windows time sync works once a week or something daft.

Quick google shows loads of shareware etc. Is there a de-facto ntp client thats free and simple?

the windows time service normally updates from domain controllers once an hour.
I think you can change which NTP server you are looking at from the command line.
    net time /setsntp:<server>

KB314054 tells you all about the w32tm service in XP and how to configure it.

This is the bit you might be interested in:
    Registry Entry SpecialPollInterval
    Path HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\W32Time\TimeProviders\NtpClient
Notes This entry specifies the special poll interval in seconds for manual peers. When the SpecialInterval 0x1 flag is enabled, W32Time uses this poll interval instead of a poll interval determine by the operating system. The default value on domain members is 3,600. The default value on stand-alone clients and servers is 604,800.
    (604,800 seconds = 1 week)

Thanks - didn't realise that - save me finding a decent client and use the in built facilities. Will hack my registry!

I have used net time before and had it schedule every hour using the scheduling service but the dos prompt that pops up annoys me.
