I'm currently using avg 7.0 and whilst I've had no problems I was wondering whether Avast 4 home edition was any better.
Anyone used AAvast 4.0? What free antivirus do you use?

First this thread has been done a million and one times, search the forum for free antivirus and you will get loads of threads, some v. in depth.
That aside, i've got avast and i would rate it really highly, i would say its better than AVG but thats a personal thang.

I tried avast but it apparent;y it wasn't compatible with zone alarm. Then I couldn't uninstall them and I had to format.
I use AVG
Speaking of AVG, when I try to update it says there IS and update, but it can't be found on the server. Anyone else having this problem? I've tried manually updating it too but it keeps saying there's no newer update available.
EDIT: Got it sorted now.

I use Avast (mainly becuase they were one of the first with a 64 bit client) and have been extremly impressed with it so far.
In fact I had SAV9 installed on my system prior to switching to WinXP64, I then installed Avast and copied a load of files around.......Avast found 5 viri that SAV had missed and none of them were false-positives.
