Hi all,I spent 4 hours Saturday reformatting my PC,I usually do it every 4 months or so to keep it crisp and to erase my installation mistakes with display drivers,loads of freebie utilities,games that turn out to be lame etc.
Could someone who has a nice(it works) method for creating and using a slipstream disc so that I can load XP,SP2 and most of the updates plus other essential apps I have(Norton,Chipset drivers etc) please post their solution.

Have a google search for nlite - small bit of freeare that should let you create a slipstreamed disk from files on your HDD. It works for drivers & service packs, and you can also remove components that you won't use.
Try nLite too. I have heard mixed reviews though, but worth a go if it works for you.

3rd vote for nlite, you can also your sata raid drivers to it (if you need them) completly eliminating the need for floppy disks WOOOOOOO!
Nlite is a pretty good program for what it offers and can do. I used an unattended disk last weekend and it worked a treat however I have found nlite to be a little unstable on times and the explanations to the different windows components could be explained a bit better imo. It offers the capability to remove a lot of components from windows but I highly recommend at this be avoided if you don't know the ins and outs of the OS pretty well, it can lead to annoying problems later on when u have the OS installed.Quote:

nLite is very useful for getting security patches slipstreamed as well. On the MSFN forums there's a package you can download that contains all the security releases although you might want to download manually from Microsoft to make sure they're legit files.
